Job Description

We’re partnering with a highly regarded ophthalmology practice with an excellent reputation for quality care and clinical excellence. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced Ophthalmic Technician who’s looking to take their skills to the next level by learning and specializing in an advanced area of eye care.  As an Ophthalmic Technician, you’ll work closely with physicians to perform diagnostic testing, assist with in-office procedures, and provide exceptional patient care. This role offers the chance to work with state-of-the-art imaging and diagnostic equipment while gaining hands-on experience in a specialized clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct preliminary patient assessments and collect detailed medical histories.
• Perform advanced diagnostic testing, including imaging and visual field exams.
• Prepare for and assist with in-office procedures, ensuring safety and comfort for patients.
• Educate patients on treatment plans, procedures, and home care.
• Maintain and calibrate ophthalmic equipment to ensure accuracy.
• Accurately document findings and procedures in the EMR system.

Compensation & Benefits:
• Pay: $20-$24/hour, $28-31/hour (COAs)
• Benefits include:

     - Paid vacation: 1 week after 3 months, 2 weeks after 6 months, 3 weeks after 2 years, and 4 weeks after 5 years

Job Requirements

• High school diploma required; associate’s degree or ophthalmic technology coursework preferred.
• Certification as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) preferred.
• Prior experience as an Ophthalmic Technician required; experience in specialized testing or imaging a plus.
• Excellent communication, attention to detail, and patient service skills.
