Job Description

A well-established, mission-driven behavioral health organization in the Finger Lakes region is seeking a Senior Director of Quality Assurance to lead and strengthen agency-wide quality and compliance initiatives.  This is a high-impact leadership role and a chance to build, influence, and elevate.  You’ll have the support of an experienced team (including a senior QA coordinator) and direct access to executive leadership, while owning the strategy and day-to-day execution of QA initiatives across multiple programs.

Schedule: Full-Time, Exempt | Monday-Friday days (typically 8:00AM-4:00PM) with rotating on-call

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead and execute the organization’s Quality Assurance work plan, including audits, compliance tracking, performance monitoring, and continuous quality improvement initiatives
  • Ensure regulatory and organizational compliance (OASAS, OMH, DOH, NYS Justice Center), including oversight of incident management, investigations, and reporting
  • Supervise, mentor, and support a team of QA professionals (approx. 6–8 direct reports), while contributing to training and onboarding efforts
  • Partner with program leadership to analyze data, guide best practices in compliance and safety, and participate in rotating on-call coverage for quality-related incidents

Compensation & Benefits:

  • $70-$95k annually, depending on experience and scope of background. The organization is open to a range: whether a seasoned leader, or a strong QA professional ready for the next step.
  • Health, dental and vision coverage with low employee contributions
  • 403(b) retirement plan with employer contribution after one year
  • Generous PTO starting at 4 weeks, increasing annually

Additional Details:

  • Minimal travel: all local (generally within 10-15 miles)
  • Rotating on-call coverage (shared across leadership; not constant, but you are the point person when needed)
  • Strong internal support structure and collaborative leadership team

Job Requirements

  • Strong Quality Assurance experience required, ideally within behavioral health or human services
  • Leadership or supervisory experience preferred, or clear readiness to step into a leadership role
  • Working knowledge of regulatory and compliance standards (OASAS, OMH, DOH, etc.)
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (or equivalent experience), along with strong communication, analytical skills, and a valid NYS Driver’s License
