Are you a detail-loving numbers person with a knack for solving invoice mysteries and a talent for keeping things running smoothly?  We’re looking for a sharp, reliable Accounts Payable & Receivable Specialist to join a mission-driven team that provides vital services to the community.  This is a temporary role (at least 3 months) with the possibility of extension or hire, paying $24/hr — a great opportunity to get your foot in the door and grow with an organization that values stability, service, and people.

As part of the finance team, you’ll handle all things AP and AR — from entering and processing vendor invoices, to supporting private pay billing and assisting with a major system transition.  You’ll be based on-site in Clinton, NY, just outside of Utica — easy to get to, and part of a welcoming, supportive team.  Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00AM–4:30PM, with occasional visits to a sister campus as needed.

What You’ll Do:

• Process 70–90 invoices weekly across multiple entities
• Enter and reconcile accounts payable in the general ledger
• Assist with private pay billing and future AR training as operations shift in-house
• Run check batches, mail vendor payments, and communicate clearly with vendors
• Troubleshoot missing invoices or payment issues with professionalism
• Work in Excel, email, and accounting software with confidence
• Collaborate with your team and support smooth financial operations

• At least 1-2 years of AP/AR experience, preferably with a focus in AP
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Great communication skills (you can talk to vendors without breaking a sweat)
• Basic Excel proficiency and general comfort with systems and numbers
• Bonus: Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, or private pay billing
